The water plants of Pardes Hanna and Giv`at Ada are old, over 80 and 50 years old, respectively. The water supply systems in these plants must be renewed in order to adapt them to the changes that are taking place in the national water system, and to meet the projected increase in water consumption. Ecolog performed general design for the water supply system in the Pardes Hanna-Karkur area and Giv`at Ada, including the transfer of water to the Wadi Ara and Baqa al-Gharbiyye area, and to Judea and Samaria areas. The design is integrated with the overall approach for supplying water via the National Water Carrier northward and additional development plans in the design and adjacent areas, and re-examining the structure of the water supply system of the entire region. The design included modeling the alternatives to the planning using Bentley`s Water CAD network solver software, where various scenarios were evaluated, including the reliability of the supply system in the event of a failure. Based on the comparison of the alternatives, recommendations were made for the development of the water system on the basis of engineering, economic and statutory/regulatory considerations.
