Remediation of the Kishon Stream Bed
As part of a national project for the remediation of the Kishon stream bed, contaminated sediments were excavated along 6.5 km of its course.
Ecolog, on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection supervised the dredging of the Kishon River sediment, the construction of leachate and sludge treatment facility, biological treatment of contaminated soil and environmental monitoring of the entire on-site operations. Ecolog work included supervision, on-going monitoring and professional guidance for all of the remediation process; review of work plans, technical opinion and documentation, support on preparation of tenders for subcontractors in charge of the remediation work including the preparation of scope of work and the selection processes of the contractor, review and approval of major biological treatment processes, treatment of contaminated water and air. The project included support of all on-site comprehensive environmental monitoring processes.
Ecolog supervised and accompanied the project for over three years.
